Приютская статистика

B России  ~ 155 детских домов для умственно отсталых детей . Хотя многие хотят учиться и способны учиться, они считаются «необучаемыми». В возрасте 18 лет большинство из них не умеют читать или писать. Независимые исследования показали, что часто случaются серьезные ошибки при диагностике детей. В России этот тип диагноза почти окончательный. Таким образом, это как пожизненное заключение для таких детей.  Более детальная информация на странице   “Почему мы им помогаем.”

There are 155 orphanages for mentally disabled children in Russia. Although these children want to study, and are capable of learning, they are considered “ineducable”. At the age of 18 most of them cannot read or write. Independent studies have proven that often, serious mistakes are made while diagnosing children as “mentally disabled”.  In Russia, this type of diagnosis is almost always final.  Hence, a diagnosis is like a life sentence for these children.  Read more on the “Why / Почему мы им помогаем” page.

Мы помогаем детям инвалидам из интерната в Бельском Устье, Псковской области.

We are helping the disabled children at the Belskoie Ystie orphanage in Russia.

We extend our sincere appreciation to ALL who have donated money to this cause this past year, including the women from “Club NIKA” in Walnut Creek. These ladies have recently donated $1000, and are currently organizing another fundraising event.

Многие мои друзья и подруги не понимают этого небольшого помешательства: помощь далеким русским сиротам. Что я Гекубе? Что мне Гекуба?  С нашей бывшей многострадальной родиной отношения у нас у всех более чем сложные и у многих крайне натянутые. У них, этих многих, любая помощь тем, из-за бугра вызывает нерадостные чувства и подозрения. Если пошлем – не в тот карман попадет.
